This older playground is a nice neighborhood destination, and even has a swimming pool.
We had come out to the Queens Farm Museum located next door to the playground. It was a hot, sunny summer afternoon, and our toddler wanted to play on a playground. The farm animals in the Queens Farm Museum were great, but there are only so many goats you can look at.
We walked over to the playground surprised to find an above ground pool staffed with lifeguards. There wasn't the kind of crazy lines that can be found at larger pools. The playground also had a splash pad so even if the pool was crowded, there was a place to cool off in the water.
The splash pad activation button was a bit far from the spray, and it needed constant attention either from the children playing or a parent standing nearby. It was an odd layout.
The equipment was fine, although a bit older. It was alien themed in that there was an alien on the top, but nothing else special about it. The separate toddle section was compact, but our toddler preferred the larger area.
There were some swing sets as well, but these were set off from the main playground area. Lots of grass growing between the tiles suggests its never busy not well maintained.
The playground is operated in a joint agreement with PS 186. The site was once part of the Adriance Farm, which is now the Queens farm Museum.
