Not Your Nanny's Review

It would be very hard to get bored at this playground.

It’s big and fun with a lot of bits and pieces to amuse kids of all ages. It’s definitely chaotic and maybe overstimulating, but hey, if you get overwhelmed you can go stand on the hour-long line at Cuts and Slices across the street to calm down.

Playground Papa's Review

This big, vibrant playground has a lot of variety, but also has always been crowded. There aren’t enough playground options in this neighborhood, and it shows.

The theme is something looking like oversized flower stalks are probably some weird climbing equipment but I don’t understand exactly how to use them. They look like an art installation. The colors of the playground are pleasant, but I do wonder how useful it all is.

The one piece of equipment has long ramps which was great for first-time walkers. There are so many kids running around though it's not exactly an ideal place for first steps.

The water is sort of right in the center of everything, and can pool up. Yes, the kids were splashing in it and jumping in the puddle.

The toddler section was kind of dull, and despite the many toddlers, not many were actually using it.

The park is filled with old trees with plenty of shade, and with bathrooms adjacent to the playground, it can be a great destination.

About the Playground

The park is named for the upstate town Saratoga, and first operated as a park in 1903. The playground reopened after a renovation in January of 2023.
