Reviews

Not Your Nanny's Review

Love this playground! It’s very lively and crowded, just like the rest of the park and the neighborhood.

There’s tons of green space to run around or picnic right outside the gates, and there’s a good separation between the toddlers and the older kids, with lots of unique apparati. My one thing is that there’s not a lot of benches for adults, particularly considering how crowded it can get.

Playground Papa's Review

I like the rainbow water feature even when it's not turned on. It's a great background for cute photos.

The playground can be a bit chaotic because it is well used and filled with children. Bruno likes the toddler section. It is larger than most other toddler features.

Bruno's Review

It's fun too.

About the Playground

The park was originally named Bushwick Park but in 1989 it was renamed in honor of community activist Maria Hernandez. Hernandez was murdered that year after her efforts to thwart drug dealing in the neighborhood by providing information to the police about illegal activities.
