A tiny little playground that seems more like an afterthought or repurposed art project, the East River park isn't great for kids.
The first time we came here, our toddler enjoyed climbing on the tiny little train. I'm not entirely sure this is even part of the playground. He's a big fan of trains, and found it entertaining for a few minutes.
The swings are like any normal set of swings, but there is only two of each type. Not that it gets busy here.
The other elements are a weird collection of dangerous objects and things that don't appeal to children, like a big pile of rocks.
A seven-acre waterfront park the state of New York controls adjacent to a city-owned parcel of East River State park and partly connected to the waterfront privately developed by The Edge. For many years the park served as the home of Smorgasburg.
