A modern playground tucked into the neighborhood, Sean's Place offers a great place to burn off endless toddler energy.
We were early for a birthday party to be held nearby, and decided to stop in here beforehand. Our toddler loved climbing through the caterpillar tunnel. We were lucky he had just started showing interest in balancing beams because there was a wishbone shaped one for him to climb on.
The small toddler and bigger kid side was clearly divided. Our toddler didn't show much interest in the equipment meant for older kids, largely because it was mostly climbing structures. These were mostly rope structures that have become popular, I assume because they are cheaper.
Like most modern playgrounds, there was a bit more sensory equipment than similarly sized playgrounds that were built even a few years earlier.
This is a great little neighborhood playground, and I can see the appeal for families living nearby, but its also forgettable.
Named for Rookie Police office Sean McDonald who was killed in 1994, the playground is intentionally playing on the marshy Long Island landscape of the 19th Century, with organic motifs.
