A great neighborhood playground, Boerum Park offered a good amount of fun without too much complication.
There are two distinct sections of the playground divided by the water feature. If the water had been on, I could see this as being a problem for keeping our toddler dry. But since the season had turned, he eagerly ran between the two sections of the park.
The toddler area was pretty straight forward fun. It is a bit simplistic, but certainly entertaining enough for a short time.
The section design for older children was overall more entertaining since it was simply larger and had more ways of getting up and down. What would have made it better overall was it hd more of a circular path around the equipment.
Overall this is a great park for the neighborhood offering a good variety of play things, even if nothing is particularly novel.
The park is named for Simon Boerum who once owned much of the land in Boerum Hill. The Department of Education and Parks jointly operates the playground and it was reconstructed in 2001 with a city council grant.
