This simple playground overlooks a reservoir and offered an idyllic, if simple experience in the Hudson Valley.
We had access to a car and decided to drive north for an afternoon of autumnal fun. Apparently, fall hadn't yet arrived. The leaves were still green and it wasn't even crisp, sweater weather yet. We did buy some apples.
Since we have friends living in Highland, we made a plan to stop by. Even if you don't have friends who live in town, there is an extensive trail network accessible from the parking lot.
The equipment was a bit older, but totally fine. There was nothing very exciting about it, but the playground did sit on the side of a hill with an exposed rock face. Our toddler enjoyed climbing up and down on the rocks about as much as the playground equipment.
Perhaps on a different day, we might have gone for a hike, but ultimately the child needed lunch and we headed on our way.
