A spacious playground, there was plenty of room to run around on pavement, but not much in the way of equipment.
The playground is meant for toddlers as there were no larger climbing pieces. The camel was a fun addition – but we had just come from another playground with a camel, so it wasn't as unique as we thought it was.
There was nothing unique about this playground. We happened to be walking by so we stopped – and we had already been to another playground earlier that afternoon. Our toddler got bored pretty quickly with this one, and it was time to move on.
It would probably make a nice neighborhood destination, but it is catty-corner to Herbert Von King Park which has a better playground and open park space – that might explain why this one was empty.
The bathrooms were surprisingly unlocked and in good condition. There was even a changing table inside.
Named for Benjamin Banneker, a writer and mathematician. The first playground on the site was built as part of the Works Progress Administration during the Great Depression.
